Armed with a new recording and the drive to get out there and play for the people, Shattered Reality are ready to go. Check out our long over due 10 Questions interview with this hungry new band.
1. How
long has the band been together and what is your current lineup?
As of now
we have been together 9 months, our current line-up is "Brendon
Broome-guitars/vocals" "Vaughn Broome-Bass/vocals" "Shawn
Kreger-Drums"
2. How
would you describe your group’s style? What are the bands collective
influences?
Our style
is alternative/neo-grunge we have heavy melodic riffage, sabbath groove bass,
and power drumming. Our main influences include: alice in chains,led
zeppelin,nirvana,soundgarden,pearl jam,black sabbath,dinosaur jr, lil wayne
NOT!!!!! ha ha
3.
What is the bands songwriting process? Is there a main writer or is it a group
effort? Explain?
Our
process consists of free jamming with added lyrics and cool subtle vocal and
guitar melodies added on after recording with the help of our engineer /
producer Ron Pease.
Our writing
is a group effort, everyone contributes to the sound.
4.
What are your current goals as a band? (Working on CD, Booking, Tour, etc.)
We just
finished recording our new cd at Refraze Recording Studios with engineer
/producer Ron Pease which contains 11 tracks which we think sounds great!! So
we're in the process of getting that manufactured and packaged now. So next is
playing more gigs, getting promoted, better equipment, and more groupies for
the bassist ha ha.

What goals have you set for yourself in the past that you have or have not
achieved and why?
We have
set out to create a good recording that represents us and our sound which we
have achieved at Refraze.
6.
What Dayton clubs would we be able to see you perform?
The
Attic, Canal Street,the Avenue,Hanks Pub,Blind Bobs,Tumbleweed connections,
etc.
7. Do
you have many out of town shows? Where?
Yes we're
starting to, we are currently playing with Spires of Altum in Richmond Indiana
and will probably be doing some shows in Springfield , and of coarse looking
for more.
8.
Give us some details on one of your most memorable moments as a band? Good or
Bad.
Our
singer biked into a snow pile and busted his knee and limped on-stage and still
played the show.
9.
What advice would you give someone that is just starting to play the Dayton
scene?
Be
persistant, your lucky to catch a break, anything you get in this business you
earn.
10.
Who are some of your favorite Dayton bands?
Element,
Spires of Altum, Turkish Delights, Brothers in Arms, Toads and Mice, there are
quite a few other good bands we like also.
