Unless you haven't noticed, this years Dayton Music Fest is upon us ! For the past few years this event has been growing rapidly. With 25-30 bands representing the original sounds that Dayton has to offer. For the most part the Music Fest has largely booked alternative/indie type bands with a little emo and punk thrown in. But this year they seemed to have turned a page and booked a larger variety of styles. There are several "Hard Rock" acts and even a few leaning towards metal. When I say "Metal" we aren't talkin' about screamo chunk chunk whhOOOOAAA ! The sound I speak of rings more true to the roots of Heavy Metal. This is a must see event for any music enthusiast or fanatic ! Every band is worth the price of admission, $10 BUCKS! 28 bands, 6 venues, all for 10 dollars! The setting is great, The Historic Oregon District . Bars including The Nite Owl, The Oregon Express, The Canal Street Tavern, The Tumbleweed Connection, and The Trolley Stop.
